Thank you all those who helped raise over three thousand pounds in Dronfield in February 2025.
In 2025 we planned four further deliveries of aid to Ukraine, starting in March, when we drove out two 4x4 vehicles to Kyiv, for medical units working with the Ukrainian Army. We also collected donations of food, blankets, boots, vitamins and medical products in May for delivery in June. Helping Our Ukrainian Friends is a community of people across England, Poland and Ukraine dedicated to helping Ukraine since the invasion by Russia in 2022. Our 24th delivery contained six tonnes of aid, and in June 2025 this has now been completed, thank you especially to Prince Build.
Helping Our Ukrainian Friends originated in friendships forged through football when four of the team met in Donetsk in 2012 when England played Ukraine in the Euros. It now unites a team working in Sheffield, Dronfield, Peterborough, Stamford, Surrey, Gliwice, Rivne, Odesa, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia and Kyiv.
Our first delivery of aid was in March 2022, taking medical supplies to the Kyiv Heart Institute as Russian invaders threatened to encircle Kyiv. Since then the UK team have made 20 humanitarian aid deliveries, while the Polish and Ukrainian teams have taken these supplies on to front line communities.
So far the project has raised £300,000 and delivered over 100 tonnes of aid, plus dozens of generators and thousands of lights, batteries, camping stoves, tourniquets and over 2,000 Christmas and Easter Gift Boxes for Ukrainian children.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We need to raise money and open up new collection points where people can drop off their donations. All donations are delivered by members of our team and recorded on video and in photos. Many of our supporters have recognised their donations as they are handed out to villages and families in southern and Eastern Ukraine.

However, we can demonstrate that all the money we raise is accounted for and goes directly to support our objectives, including the costs of delivering donated and purchased supplies to Ukraine.
It has a written Terms of Reference, which are available on request.
